Below is information that I have found on the
Internet about the speaker that will be appearing at the DYMC Rock 2002 Retreat
in Ocean City Maryland. I am much more pleased with the speaker this year than I
was with last years speaker. I hope you will consider letting your child attend,
I really think they will get a lot out of it. We will need a head count by the
next meeting on January 25th. Parents are welcomed to attend at a
cost of $ ????.
Our Mission "Developing Leaders of Integrity"
CLI knows that students today have the potential and the desire to make a difference. With the right encouragement and support structure, today's students will create an unstoppable movement based on universal principles and ethical values that will change our educational system. It is our commitment at CLI to aid students in this process. Celebrate Life International is an organization dedicated to the development of Young People by building character based on practical leadership skills and strong moral values. Through programs, materials, and personnel, CLI empowers Young People to: · build lives of integrity · create positive relationships · stand strong in healthy habits · multiply their influence among their peers CLI is already working with students in the public schools and together we are making a difference in the public educational system of the United States. Our History 'In the Beginning' In October 1996, Celebrate Life
International, Inc. applied for and received nonprofit corporate status under
the Georgia Nonprofit Corporation Code. In November, a body of individuals came
together as an initial board of directors and ratified Lori Salierno as the
Chief Executive Officer. Celebrate Life International also received tax exempt
status under section 501(a) of the Internal Revenue Code as an organization
described in section 501(c)(3). Prior to working with Celebrate Life
International, Ms. Salierno was a full time speaker, on the road an average of
15 days a month speaking to colleges & universities, youth conventions,
music festivals, women's retreats, and church leaders. Her message was being
heard. She realized that she had been given an incredible platform, a voice with
a generation that is hungry to learn and enjoy life to its fullest. Experience was one reason her message was being
heard. She had developed her communications skills through education and
hands-on work with youth in local churches. In 1983, Ms. Salierno was on staff
at a local church in Indianapolis. She began accepting speaking engagements and
tried to balance her work duties with her passion for people and the desire to
motivate them through public address. Whenever she could she spoke at youth
retreats and faith community meetings to sharpen her communication skills.
Everywhere she spoke people affirmed her talent of motivational speaking. In
1992, she completed her Masters of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary. By
1994, Ms. Salierno was in Phoenix, again on staff at a local church. She had
come to a crossroads. She could no longer do both local work and speak on the
side. She began working with Ambassador's Speakers Bureau to speak full time and
resigned her church position. She felt she could make a broader impact if she
took her message on the road. In 1995 Ms. Salierno published her first book, Designed
for Excellence, written for Young People to motivate them to live above the
level of mediocrity and get out of their comfort zones. Her newest book, When
Roosters Crow, carries this same theme and specifically targets the need for
accountability. This passion for students matched the goal of Celebrate Life
International and confirmed Ms. Salierno’s desire to found and become the
visionary for this youth-oriented leadership and character development
organization. In its first year, Celebrate Life International reached over
150,000 students, women, and leaders encouraging them and challenging them to
live lives of excellence and integrity. Through speaking and conferences,
Celebrate Life International is training others how to catch this same vision
and put it into action. Besides motivational public speaking, Celebrate
Life International is also involved in equipping Young People through workshops
and conferences. Conferences provide the opportunity to train and equip
students, women, and leaders with universal principles, practical skills, and
relevant strategies to increase their influence in the world. The
organization has introduced a leadership and character development approach that
targets public middle and high schools. This approach is based on CLI's
own Teach
One to Lead One ™ philosophy which addresses the issues of
empowering, energizing and equipping Students, Teachers and Parents to live
principle based lives. Teach
One to Lead One 'EMPOWER - ENERGIZE - EQUIP'
Celebrate Life International's Teach One to
Lead One ™ philosophy is focused on Leadership and Character formation in
Young People in public schools throughout the United States. Teaching
practical leadership skills and virtues, we will develop Leaders of Integrity
who will stand up for what is right and who will continuously strive to
positively influence those around them. Aware of the challenges that face
our nation's students, public school educators, and parents, Celebrate Life
International will partner with each of these groups to create a movement
towards principle-based living. Through powerful training, practical materials,
exciting presentations, hands-on activities and community service, Teach One
to Lead One ™ will introduce universal principles that govern human life.
Along with these principles, CLI will equip students with proven life skills and
tools to create healthy habits, giving them the keys to significant living. Celebrate Life International is truly committed to the development of this world's future leaders. We welcome the opportunity to discuss how your public schools can benefit from Teach One to Lead One ™ . For more information, please contact the CLI Office. This
is the band that will be appearing at the conference. Because they are a local
group I was not very successful at finding too much information on them. Below
is what appeared on the conference’s web site. If you would like to check out
the web sites I visited their addresses are below: http://www.bwconf.org/youth/rock2002.htm MUSIC
